GUEST BOOK

I sold ads to David when I work at the Savannah Morning News Real Estate section from 2002 to 2005. He was one of my favorite clients because he was very kind to me and I enjoyed to talking to him. Maybe one day he show me my villa in heaven when I go up there in the future.

- Danny Tomlinson, Savannah, GA

I remember David Byrd found us this house when he was a Remax agent. He said that when it was time to sell he would handle selling the house. We are going to sell again and I went to look for him and found out he died two years ago. I found him to be a character.

- Judy Smith and David Petrillo, Rincon, GA

I just learned of David's passing, and I send my sincerest and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I knew David just a little, as a Realtor and a neighbor on Whitemarsh Island. When out on one of my long walks, he would often stop me so we could talk real estate, life and his battle against cancer. Every once in a while, someone you interact with only briefly makes a big impression. That was the case with David. He was the kind of person you wish you did know better: funny, engaging, clearly very smart, full of terrific stories and well-informed opinions--and most of all, humble. That 10-gallon white Stetson he always wore seemed more than merely a way to keep the sun off of his head; it was a symbol of goodness, like in the old Hollywood westerns. David was one of the good guys, especially in the sometimes rough-and-tumble world of real estate, and he will be missed.

- Katherine Oxnard, Savannah, GA

Rest in peace, David. And thanks for your life of service.

- Jim, Alisa, and Mary McNeely, Sierra Vista, AZ

We love you all!

- The Savannah American Cancer Society, Savannah, GA

I was saddened to learn of David's death. I only met him one time when he and Lynn came to Milledgeville but it was enough to let me know he was a very special person. I remember being introduced to him and how he towered over me when he stood up to shake my hand flashing that big grin. We will never understand why he was struck down in the prime of life but surely it had to be God's will to keep him from suffering. I want to thank David for his service to our country and send my condolences to all who knew him and of course to my precious darling Lynn who loved him so much and would have been ever at his side

- Linda Bloodworth Tanner Lynn's Aunt, Milledgeville, GA
